RHET 2020 Tours Information

University of Utah Nanofab Tour

RHET will offer a tour of the Nanofab, hosted by the University of Utah. The tour will be broken into two groups to visit the 18,000 square foot Nanofab’s class 100/1000/10,000 cleanroom, packaging, and test areas and then view the 100 kW TRIGA Reactor. TRIGA features: thermal irradiation port (heavy water chamber), Fast irradiation port, In-core radiochemical separations for isotope production.

Schedule:

5:45:     Bus leaves Marriott for 10 minute trip, walking is optional

6:00:     Tour begins (please bring a passport or drivers license)

7:00:     Tour concludes

7:15:     Bus arrives at Marriott

Little Mountain Test Facility (LMTF) Tour

RHET will offer a tour of LMTF, hosted by Gregory Bell, Radiation Lab Manager. The Boeing Company operates and maintains the LMTF for the United States Air Force at Hill AFB, Ogden, Utah. The tour will be broken into two groups to visit the ionizing radiation lab which includes the LINAC, SFXR, Cobalt-60 sources, LFXR, and real time x-ray equipment, and the non-ionizing radiation (or EM labs) to include all EMI, EMC, EME, anechoic chamber, and lightning labs.

Schedule:

7:30:     Bus leaves Marriott for LMTF (No individual cars are allowed)

8:30:     Tour begins (please bring a passport or drivers license)

10:45:   Tour concludes

11:45:   Bus arrives at Marriott
